British Church was instituted either by St.Peter or his Successors. -
CHAP. II. That the Bishop of
Rome is Patriarch of the West, and therein even ofEngland: and that this follows, from the British Church's having receiv'd her Insti∣tution either from him or from his Priests, as is prov'd by the Testimony ofInnocent. -
CHAP. III. Although the
British Church had not receiv'd its Insti∣tution from theRoman, yet it is shew'd, from the Example of theIllyrican Church, that by ancient Custom time out of mind, it might be subject to it, and moreover that it ought to be so. -
CHAP. IV. Concerning the Greater Dioceses attributed to Pope
