- Full length studio portrait of Naw-qwa-chic-a-ming (variant spelling Nua-qua-chic-a-ming) seated before illustrated backdrop wearing mixture of western and traditional clothing including top hat with trade silver hatband, cloth and bead embroidered sashes, bead embroidered wool leggings, and woven beadwork garters.
- Printed on bottom margin: Cabinet Photo. T. P. Bishop, Bay City.
- Non-contemporary inscription on verso: Old Indian chief who used to come to Uncle Fritz's drugstore on 3rd St. in Bay City - before 1881.
