Derogatory depiction of a well-dressed African American man with a bright green waistcoat, top hat, and walking cane calling upon "Miss Dinah" outside of her basement apartment. Her African American maid stands at the open cellar doors and informs the suitor that Miss Dinah is "bery petickly engaged in washing de dishes." She holds out a silver tray to collect the man's calling card.
