  • Psalme 51. THE TEXT. To him that excelleth, a Psalme of Dauid, when the Prophet Na∣than came vnto him, after hee had gone in to Bershaba.
  • Psalme 51. VERSE 1. Haue mercy on me O God, according to thy louing kindnes, according to the multitude of thy compassi∣ons, put away mine iniquities.
    • After thy louing kindenesse.
    • According to the multitude of thy com∣passions, put away mine iniquities.
  • VERSE. 2. 2. Wash mee throughly from my wickednesse, and cleanse me from my sinnes.
  • VERSE. 3. 3. For I acknowledge mine ini∣quities, and my sinne is e∣uer before mine eyes.

  • VERSE. 4. 4 Against thee▪ against thee on∣lie haue I sinned, and done this euill in thy sight, That thou mayest be iust when thou spea∣kest, and pure when thou iud∣gest.

  • VERSE. 17. 17. The Sacrifices of God are a contrite spirit: a contrite and broken heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

  • VERSE 18.19. 18 Bee fauourable vnto Zyon for thy good pleasure; Build vp the wals of Ierusalem. 19 Then shalt thou accept the sa∣crifice of righteousnesse, euen the burnt-offering and obla∣tion, then shall they offer calues vpon thine Altar.
